What matters in the process
Food duties may involve crystals, starch, fibers, oils or biological solids, each suggesting different separation mechanisms. A cake-washing requirement differs from simple liquid clarification. The process also needs to account for changeovers, allergens where relevant, drainage and the ability to inspect product-contact surfaces. A full-opening cover can improve access, but cleanability still needs to be demonstrated.
A practical example
An ingredient line processing several products may lose more production time to cleaning and changeover than to the separation cycle itself. Include representative changeovers in the evaluation. A machine with a slightly longer separation cycle could still be preferable if its cleaning and inspection arrangement better fits the production plan.
What to check or specify
- State ingredient, product quality and contact requirements.
- Describe cleaning chemicals, temperature and changeovers.
- Define cake or liquid recovery and washing targets.
- Review seals, drainage, access and supporting documents.
Turn the result into a decision
Compare the relevant HUADA filtration or sedimentation family against the actual food process. Agree what will be inspected during FAT and what must be verified at site. Avoid treating a marketing label or a generic surface-finish figure as evidence for all hygiene requirements.
Equipment context: supplied HUADA English catalogue, PDF pages 16, 30–34, 43–52. Numerical examples are illustrative calculations. Application guidance must be confirmed for the actual material and selected equipment.
